Polynesian Cultural Center

While the Page family was visiting, we spent a day at the Polynesian Cultural Center - learning about the history of Pacific Islands

Lauren and Matt and another beautiful Hawaiian waterfall
 Arent we so cute?

I love pretty flowers and plants, and after 4 years I'm still not immune to their beauty
the next few pictures are from a Canoe Pageant we got to watch, with representatives from each island in one canoe doing their native dances

 Josh and his duckface....
the guys all participated in a spear throwing competition

In the village of Samoa, Lauren got a Samoan temporary tattoo
 Calen and Braiden

 who wore it better? Josh?
 or Laura?

a few guys demonstrating climbing for coconuts
flexing while climbing...this show was hilarious!
 Caleb attempting to make fire
one by one, all of the men folk had to try it

we got to eat a traditional luau dinner
 brothers :)
 ha ha Caleb goofing around
 brothers :)
mmmm. delicious pineapple drink with rum.
the pig is buried under the taro leaves

 the during dinner show.

we had a great time, and i would absolutely recommend anyone who comes to hawaii spend the day out at PCC and go to all of the different villages and learn about all of the Islands. Learning can be fun!
