Waimea Falls and Dole Plantation

I apologize for the total random order of pictures, but I wasnt paying attention when I uploaded...bad Laura!

We spent a few hours at Waimea falls, a very beautiful, scenic 1 1/2 mile walk which ends in a waterfall.

A great picture of Kylee smiling at the waterfall. She's such a water baby!
Josh playing under the waterfall.

love how these flowers look!

so pretty.

there's my buddy!

these trees are all over oahu. not only are they gorgeous, but they smell SO good!

this is a cannonball tree. so very neat looking.

i loved how this flower looked.

my two little pretties.

lol...Kylee needs to work on her smiling pose.

This one is so pretty I printed it out and put it on my fridge.

Waimea Falls.

Lexi spent the hike in her stroller. She's a great walker...but slow. and very curious.

Jake and Samantha are to the left of the waterfall.

We also went to the Dole Plantation. I love going there because we always get pineapple ice cream. It's the best!

Kylee is feeding the Koi here.

rows of pineapple growing.

taking the train tour.

me and baby lexi on the train. Kylee slept the whole way but Lexi seemed to like it.

We just had some friends do the Hibiscus maze at the Dole Plantation so I'm looking forward to doing that while Josh's parents are out here (in just a few days!).

Beach and Playground at Bellows

While we were camping, one evening we went to the huge playground that Bellows has.
of course, the beautiful beach was our backdrop.

Luke sliding :)

Lexi's first time sliding, look at her expression - she loved it!

of course, camping by the beach, we went to the beach a few times. Here is Jake swimming

Kylee and Mommy getting hit by a wave

Stole this from Samantha - I love this picture!

Since we went during the week, the beach was mostly deserted. Love it!

beautiful Lexi

Blake got initiated into Hawaii life...got stung by a portugese man-o-war. Here is the lifeguard comforting him.

Jake, Sam and Lexi

for some reason Kylee was super sleepy one morning at the beach. she mostly laid in the sand or curled up with her towel.

We were fortunate (and unfortunate for Blake), when he was stung by the jellyfish, the lifeguard came over later to check on him. I dont remember the names of the creatures he brought over, but he was capturing sea creatures in the sand and bringing them over to show all of us. Super friendly guy. Anyways, a few minutes after he left, Josh found a crab in the sand...watch Kylee's reaction:

Camping

While the Page family was visiting, we spent 3 days camping at Bellows. I think all of us were a little leery on how the kids would do, but everyone did great. We had so much fun, and Josh and I are making camping a regular thing now.

Here is our area setup. Our tent is onthe left, Jake and Samantha's in the middle, and the screened in tent and tables were ours as well.
Setting up our tent.

taking a break :)

dinner

playing a little football. the area we had was so great for all of the kids (big kids too)

the forecast said rain for the entire time we were there. lucky for us, it only rained a few times, for a few minutes, the whole 3 days

our first night, waiting for the guys to light the fire

the guys admiring their work. it only took a few hours...admittedly, they were using soaked wood and charcoal and had no lighter fluid, so i'm proud they got it lit

cuddling with my baby Kylee

Kylee's first marshmallow

The boys laughing...we were hanging out at the campfire and from out of nowhere it started downpouring. So Josh and Jake ran to the screened tent, zipped it up (and left me outside) but Jake's hair got stuck in the zipper. Josh spent like 5 minutes trying to get the hair out of the zipper, until I stepped in and got it out 2 seconds later.

josh cut his finger while opening up our champagne bottle. the little sweetheart still poured our drinks for us, though. lol.
